LEED Platinum Aviation Facility Tour
Architect: Sullivan Architecture, PC
2011 AIAWHV Sustainable Architecture Award
This aviation facility provides an exceptional example of a corporate tenant embracing Westchester County initiatives to renovate a county owned property incorporating all available sustainable strategies, means and methods.
The project utilizes all categories of the BVCI LEED matrix featuring the first small wind turbines and large scale solar array in Westchester County. A vegetated roof system, rain water recovery/gray water system and state of the art hangar door design are also trademarks of the buildings sustainable features.
The tour will touch on all aspects of the sustainable design elements including interior occupant features, interior finishes, active and passive energy saving components and systems: stakeholders involvement in the process as well as discussions regarding building re-use strategies and environmental remediation efforts.
