This course is designed to be a thought-provoking elevator education presentation geared towards the architect, specifier, and designers of mid-rise buildings (7-20 stories) It will review the topics discussed in Elevator Education 101: what is vertical transportation and the most common types?; take a closer look at the aspects of a traction elevator: the basic parts, safety equipment, regenerative drives and hoisting machine configurations; and give things to think about when designing for elevators in a mid-rise building: dispatching, security, traffic analysis, location and grouping.
