Special Insider's tour of the mansion, exhibit by Jorge Otero-Pailos in the swim tank; the c. 1910 rose garden, the c.1880 frame of Jay Gould’s Lord & Burnham greenhouse, the stabilized ruins of the c. 1911 swimming pool building, the fern garden and the 1895 bowling Alley. Understand the history of the development and inhabitation of Lyndhurst, its key structures and the Picturesque Landscape. Examine the work of Alexander Jackson Davis on the mansion, in two phases, and his, or his contemporaries, on the landscape. See work by artist and historic preservation expert Jorge Otero-Pailos, head of Columbia's Preservation program.
