January United Way Book Drive a Success!!!

Thank you so much for you generous contribution to our ongoing book drive.  The 45 children’s books we received in your donation were an important addition to our United2Read reading kits.  The books will be delivered directly into the hands of nearly 15 children who will be supplied with reading kits of their very own.  This will allow them to discover the joys and wonder in the world of reading. 

Our United2Read program is a collaboration designed to get children reading on grade level by the end of third grade.  But the world of written language cannot just start when a child enters pre-school or kindergarten.  We know that 61% of low income children do not have even one children’s book in their home.  That is what you have helped with, giving a child their head start to a better future. 

We cherish your participation in this collaboration since this project is ongoing due to the great need of books in our community.
