THE CITY OF MOUNT VERNON HAS DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY

Mount Vernon Officials have declared a State of Emergency amid the Coronavirus outbreak. EFFECTIVEImmediately the Department of Buildings will be CLOSED TO THIE PU'BLl'C until further notice.

 

We will remain open for EMERGENCIES ONLY: Please call (914) 665-2483 between the hours of 8:30 am - 4:30pm. There will be no further Housing or Building Inspections.

 

PLEASE NOTE: INSPECTORS WILL STILL BE ON DUTY. NOTICE TOCONTRACTORS AND/OR PROPERTY OWNERS:

Should any type of work be performed without a permit during this closure, Violations, Stop Work Orders, and/or Locking of the Premises may be performed. All those who violate this order will be violated to the full extent of the law. Removal of work may also be required to satisfy code compliance by the authority having jurisdiction. Do not take this directive lightly.

 

But most of all, be safe, wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth and close contact with people who are sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw away. Clean a d disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
